I'll do a topic tomorrow regarding a separate issue which is really confusing me, I live in Wattle Downs, Auckland, and I get faster results doing a speedtest to the CHCH server than to the Auckland one, Not just little boosts, like Auckland is just under 300 down, chch is over 2megs. lol

Auckland speedtest.net is hosted by Xnet, it's probably an Xnet problem.

If you are on Telecom you can use http://zeus.jetstream.co.nz/ this to double check your speed

This web server is connected directly to Telecom's Multi Service Core network via a 100Mb Ethernet link. Due to the central location and unconstrained connection into Telecom's core Internet VPN this makes it a good web site to test download performance assuming you are an Xtra retail customer.

This one is also directly connected to the telecom network isn't it ?
It is what they get you to use when you are having problems for testing..

Your computer can only download as fast as the speedtest server can sent the data, If your using speedtest.net I think the tauranga server is the fastest.

Somethings changed, either that or it is because it's in the mourning.

Upload speed is slower, but still ok, ping gone from 83ms to just over 200, and over 400 in other parts of Australia, but download speed has gone way up, and connection looks a lot more stable. It goes in one continous motion, where before it was starting and stopping during test.

This certainly has been a bit of a pickle trying to figure out what is/was going on here, not sure we're 100% there yet as far as resolution, but good to know the changes so far are having an impact

I find that my connection seems to be turning into the proverbial each night at around 10:30 - 11. Connection timeouts, lots of jitter, pages partially download, then stop, then kick back into life. Man, its horrible.

Can someone reply if they are STILL having any issues please? Or did last night.

After ideally your IP address, your DSLAM if you know it. and maybe a traceroute to a site with high throughput?

Cheers,
