Yes that's right. Use 100MB at 10c and you'll only pay $10.

You can just install the drivers manually, it requires a bit of fiddling around and you won't get sms's and the like but makes for a much "lighter" install.

The sticker on mine was crooked, I peeled it straight off and then immediately looked for the screws(see previous post).

And see the following:

Prepaid XT data plans (NOT postpaid, this is charged differently)

500MB    Casual
No data
$0        $0
500KB
$0.10    $1.00
3MB
$0.30    $1.00
7MB
$0.70    $1.00
10MB
$1.00    $1.00
12MB
$1.20    $3.00
17MB
$1.70    $17.00

Seriously, WTF, you'd be a fool to stick with casual rates

which you kind of need (SMS) because you need to send a new password each time you want to check your usage. (unless theres a way to change the password, which i would love to know how?)

and in regards to the sticker, mine is crooked too, I think I migh get it off.

When I realized that the 500MB plan can be added to normal phones, I got it set up right away. Also getting my mum to change from the 120MB plan, which is $1/MB for the first 12MB and then 108MB free. The only data plan that is better value is the $18 240MB, but if you end up using less than 180MB, the 500MB plan is cheaper.

To setup a pernanant password:

thefatmould: How do you set your own password for the Mobile BB Meter? I can't see the menu mentioned to change it. It sucks having to create a temp password each time!

When connected via the tstick goto http://yt.telecom.co.nz/mobile

Once logged in you get extra options to change password permanently

I also like the interface better, once changed that will be your password for the mbbmeter login too.

wow, that works for mobiles with the data extras plans as well.
but only if you do it from the web browser on your mobile.
Doesn't seem to work from a pc over adsl..
there is a lot of information and history in there.
You can even manage your call diversions in there..

I found the XT T-stick along with the Telecom branded software works just fine with a Vodafone SIM also. Even the Vodafone SMS number migrates automatically, and it runs fine at 3G (2100Mhz) Both the T-stick and Vodafone's $99 modem are ZTE branded, but different models, but the XT T-stick appears to be the best option as it does 3G 850/2100Mhz, so suitable for both networks. Keeping both the Vodafone and Telecom dialers on my laptop causes major difficulties, with both springing to attention when either modem is inserted, that's why I uninstalled the VF dialer and tried the Vodafone SIM in the T-stick. Unsurprisingly, the Vodafone dialer refuses to connect to Telecom's network with an XT SIM.

I plan to get one for my old folks, but I believe their old PC is only USB 1.0. Will this T-Stick work? Or does it specifically require USB 2.0?

On the box they just reccommend it, it's not required, but speeds will be limited somewhat. Still seemed just as fast on the internet, however, the Micro-SD in it may be very slow. I tried it on my computer from 2001 (which told me to plug into usb 2 to work faster), so I know it works on USB 1.

From another phone ring up 0800323232 and press topup another mobile - Enter Mobile number (On sim card case) and either topup via credit card or voucher from dairy etc

I just got the MF688+ and have started setting it up. Not a great start. For Mac users 'Open the CD-ROM...double click Connection Manager..' There is no included CD-ROM. Nowhere in the sealed box. I go to the Telecom website. 15 minutes navigating it (Do they do any user acceptance testing with their websites?). Find a link to the Connection Manager...dead link. So I try to set it up manually. Snow Leopard cannot see it at all. There is no USB modem to set up at all. Bit irritating really.

Has anyone actually got this going on Snow Leopard, and does anyone have a working link to Telecom's Connection Manager download?

I have a MacBookPro (late 2009)

If it's anything like the free one, the stick emulates a CD itself. You should be able to open the new CD drive thats created when you plug it in and run the setup from there.

I don't have OS X experience though, so things might be different there...

On the package it says the 500M starts in the month that you first use it, ie start now and its finished end of December. Anyone know if I can wait till Jan to use it, or does it expire end of Dec?
