harrylin: Now I got some dust inside the screen now, don't know why.

Should not occur, return it to your dealer for inspection, would most likely need to be sent away to telecoms repair "telegistic"

harrylin: The screen require strong pressure to activate.

will improve over short period of time as well as you adjust to the new syle of using it

my typing speed has increased because of the touch pal sip, cos I download that software when it was free, lucky! now I can get reasonable speed on my new touch now. the battery life is fine for me, I used to have 3 battery for my palm treo, now I only have one, I ordered a extended battery already. so far I'm happy with it, I can say it is not too bad at all. sometimes it is frustrating and panicking cos there is not real keyboard. I just have it for 2 days, I will post more opinion later on. finally I can say that this cellphone is worth buying, for general use, heavy typing user will be disappointed, of course.

HTC gave everyone here at the Mobius Conference a HTC Touch Dual at the end of the first day. I am not a big fan of cellphone keypads, but the T9 on these devices is soo good it's a breeze to use. The device itself is not much different from the Okta Touch - except it's HSDPA and has a slider keypad. Also no Wi-Fi on this version.

I happily replaced my Treo 750v with ths handset - refreshing to have a decent screen size and form (I am getting tired of the square screen on the Treo devices).

Okta would do ok if they had a Touch Dual in the line up.

the touch dual is gsm version, and 3.5 g , but, is it available on the market now?
the screen is smaller than the original touch.
I wonder which network is more reliable for internet broad band. telecom evdo or vodafone hsdpa?
my touch's download speed is much faster than palm treo 700, even though they are both rev 0.
does anybody know if telecom will upgrade the touch to rev a by using a software update?
cos voda doesn't have 3g in my town. I can't go for a gsm phone. sad...

but I can't get used to the touch flo. it isn't implemented properly by htc. the spb pocket plus 4.0 has much better finger scroll implemented for pocket internet explorer. but it doesn't seem that it can over write the original tough flo. sad... hope htc will release a new software update soon to improve touch flo.

Just got back from town during which I gave the txting a pretty decent workout. Went good, except I found I kept on accidently hitting "send"! oops, when I was meaning to type something else instead. Oh well, even once sent a completely blank message to a friend! lol Quick as anything I started the "real" message again only to get her reply back (replying to my completely blank message....) before I'd even properly started the message...   nevermind, I'll get faster and more accurate with time.

Ah, and another thing is normally I hand a girl my phone to have her enter her number (makes her more envolved if she puts it in, besides is morely likely to be correct if she enters it than if I put it in. Too easier for me to miss-hear with all the loud music etc....). But I found from tonight that the girls will always be finding it far too complex to operate my phone! hahaha...   have to carefully show them how to use it, now it seems it would be easier if I just simply entered in the number myself. Nah, not going to do that. Am going to keep on having new people enter in their number themselves, is a good way to introduce them to the wonderfull world which is the Okta Touch! Cool

Lets rock on with the evangalising....

Hi guys, what plans are you on?

I want to get one, but am a bit concerned about costs. my current phone is on Onebill, but looks like may have to switch to 2 plans (one for the phone, eg. flexi and another for mobile broadband).. not very clear on the website..

Thanks.

I'm on OneBill. Hopefully (fingers crossed here) this means my costs per month will stay as low as $18, $8 for insurance and $10 for the 500 txting. Plus whatever very small amount of calling I might do.

It is not really a problem - it's more like your requirements are different. There are third party programs for both the tasks you want. For example you can check Chapura PocketMirror to see if work for filtering fields during synchronisation. There is one third party program for access database manipulation, I can't remember its name now - Google is your friend.

The guy at the telecom store who sold me the phone (who owned one himself) said that the telecom technicians can access your phone and copy off your data (and even wipe it clean of confidential data) if it gets stolen (because the Okta Touch is running Windows Mobile 6 Professional). Yet I've tried ringing Telecom, and the "help" people there do not at all believe it is possible. I do suspect they are saying this because they have never yet came across this situation? Thus it is outside their experience, after all the touch has not been out for long at all and it is not possible to do this with very many of the other telecom phones.

So, is this right that it is possible or not?

It is not possible without having the physical unit.

There is software that allows for remote access but it is 3rd party and is intended for remote assistance rather than data recovery.

Its not applicable in this instance.

Hi.. can you please check your bill online please (if you have access).. I just got my handset connected on the 3rd, and already in the "recent activity" section, I have a $5.49 charge for 1:00:00 of activity.. thats a bit odd, as I was just setting up my activesync profile against a blank (new) windows live account that day (total of 5 emails with no more than 500bytes each)..

A bit worried about bill shock.. I am on a $10/month flexi plan.

Got my Touch yesterday.

It is very nice but I have locked it up twice already. It just wouldn't turn on and I had to do a soft reset both times.

Apart from that it has been great.

Anyone know what the wiring is for mini usb to stereo headset? The little earbuds don't work for me and I want to use some better headphones.
