FWIW, this is something I greatly miss in NZ (vs UK where I had visual voicemail). I'm on iOS and realise that there's a huge group that are on Android, and that Android is more complicated. But it's a genuinely brilliant feature. At the moment I don't use voicemail at all because I can't face having to phone and listen through when most messages are rubbish. Being able to see the caller for each message on screen and just hit the play button for that message was wonderful. If I could get it in NZ, I'd switch providers just for that feature.

 

 

It is in NZ on Spark - but it uses an app. I think it's pretty good so far.

Hey guys, just a reminder for those of you not on Spark that there are alternatives available, including Vxt available on Android and iOS or if you don't like our app try Hi Voicemail available on iOS.

Hi has anyone had issues with the new spark voicemail app. Can't change message callers hear (unable to change greeting at this time,try again later), On test messages left, Audio is not available.But text is is displayed. Device is a Huawei Mate 9

So a bit of respon from our technical and Vendor teams:

 

Our working hypothesis is that its a problem the device is having writing files to the device.

 

Both the greeting and the audio files need to be written to the device.  Is it possible the location where the app is writing is full or permissions. 

 

 

 

one thing thaat can be checked is if they user can play the welcome message.   If they can play welcome message is probably a permissions issue if they cant we are thinking its a device full issue

my wife uses marco polo app - it's a visual voice mail so she tells me. not sure if it will suit.

Anyone else having trouble with the spark visual voicemail app since they rolled it out to everyone last week?

 

 

 

Problems so far: Between Thursday and Saturday, voicemails were left on my phone, but they didn't appear in the app (You can call in and hear them)

 

Since later on Saturday they started coming back through to the app, and the transcription appears there - however you cannot play them back "Voicemail Error Error loading voicemail" - and the soundwave line is a flatline.

 

 

 

The app worked perfectly before this latest update / rollout and now it's unusable :(

App did an update.Had to get code sent to phone again but everything is intact and working.  And its no longer an extra cost on my phone plan!

I have been asked by the app to enter a new code which I did, but now it keeps putting a notification in saying to upgrade to the latest version in the app store -- there is no update available in the app store, do I remove it and reinstall? Will this mess things up?

Both my wife and I get an “activation failed” message as soon as we enter our numbers. I was on chat support for an hour before the agent told me he would escalate it and email me back. Based on past experience, I don’t hold out much hope for that email.

 

Edit: I got this sorted in the end and am very impressed with the new service. The Transcription is incredibly accurate and it's great to just be able to "read" voicemail as you would a text. Well done Spark, great stuff.

Question: Do you have to listen via the speaker or can you listen to the earpiece as normal (or whichever you choose)?

 

(Ive never liked listening to voicemail on the speakerphone whilst in public areas)....

Yes you can - when you play the recorded file there's an icon that toggles between playing through the earpiece or playing through the speaker. It also shows a transcript of the message which appears to be very accurate so in most cases you won't need to actually listen to the message at all.
