As far as I understand it, it's even better than that. There's no compulsion to use it all in one month. You have $30 (or near enough) credit to use as you see fit. Each calendar month you use it, you'll be charge 10c/MB up to $30 then free usage until 500MB. After that, same deal 10c/MB up to $60 total (i.e. $30 + $30) and then free usage until 1GB total (i.e. 500MB + 500MB) then 10c/MB forever after that. This is all based on the calendar months.

However, if you use 150MB this month (up to New Year's Eve) that'll cost you $15. You'll still have $15 to use next month (another 150MB). The only thing you wouldn't be able to take advantage on is the better pricing (i.e. 0.06c/MB for 500MB) unless you top up.

I hope someone corrects me if I'm wrong? In any case, it's way better (more flexible) than the casual rates. You basically have 300MB but if you use it all in a single calendar month you could stretch it up to 500MB if done right. This whole thing is a bit confusing from Telecom's literature. It seems as if you're getting 500MB to use by the end of this month, but it's not necessarily so. I'm not sure if they've portrayed it this way on purpose or if they've just tried to simplify the explanation and the nuances have been lost in translation (or the other alternative is that I'm wrong).

That's not the impression I got from the posts on here by Telecom guys.

i.e. NealR: This SIM card/Phone number has $29.95 credit on it.
The phone numbers sold as part of this promotion have been automatically signed up for the 500MByte plan rather than the $1 per day plan.
On this 500 MB plan you'll be charged 10c per MB for the first 300 MB and the next 200 MB are free.

If you happen to go over your data allowance, then you'll automatically get a further 500 MB of data to use in that same calendar month for just $29.95. Same rules apply where you are charged 10c per MB for the first 300 MB and the next 200 MB are free. And after that's used up, then each megabyte will cost 10c until the end of the calendar month.

The SIM card (phone number) will have $29.95 credit on it until you use the SIM card. It does not disappear after one month. Remember a you need to topup at least once every 6 months.

When I purchased mine, the sales rep advised me to hold off until Jan 1 as then I'd have a full month of use, so I don't think it expires.

1. The credit will not expire on 31st December unless you start using it this month and fail to use it all by this date. Waiting until 1st January to start using it only becomes relevant if you're not sure if you'll use all 500MB of it and want to maximise your potential of using it all (i.e. 31 days to use 500MB rather than the 13 days that are left in this month).

2. The 500MB must be used each calendar month for the $29.95. If you use 100MB this will cost you $10 @ 10c per MB. If that's all you use then the counter is reset to zero at the beginning of the next month.

3. Credit expires if it's not used for six months. This means you can wait until June to start using the data on your free stick if you really want to.

I maybe dumb, but I can't see why anyone would want to go any other prepay data plan than this one? Unless I've got it all wrong, if you're a light user, you'd just end up paying $1 per 10MB, a slightly heavier user $10 for 100MB and heavier still $29.95 for between 300MB and 500MB. Why would anyone stay on casual or the 100MB plan?

I've just called 123 and *123 gone thru 3 helpdesks and finally got to the T Stick data halpdesk who dropped the call while I was explaining to them that I wanted to put that plan on my prepay mobile as well..
Which part of telecom did you go thru to get it on your plan..

Called *123 and asked for accounts or something like that.

It's the same place you get the standard addons.
