Kelem: Doozy you seem to have the inside ear at Telecom, is there another plan coming out prior to the August 13 demise of Big time, or it just a fact we have seen the last of unlimited plans, from them?

oh yeah doozy if u reading this post  . give the home package users a incentive. to stay, either  leave  us on big time or just as good new plan :)

go somewhere else then, there are plenty of other ISP's out there.
Telecom has stated many times unlimited/bigtime is finished so just forget about it and move somewhere else if you are unhappy and get on with life..

if they had decent plans, moved with the times( most of the plans were made years ago )   not cost the earth...

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

lanks: Sorry disregard this post. Someone in the house got conned in to swapping the plan.

In the letter I received from Telecom about BigTime's demise it mentioned that if I didn't respond, I would be swapped to Pro automatically.

Just a heads up from anyone else who finds themselves on this plan unawares.

I must admit I was away when the letters were drafted and sent but thought this sounded a little odd so I had a look through the various copies and can't see one that says anyone would be automatically moved to Pro, there are several versions that recommend Pro but every single version I've seen goes on to say that you would be automatically moved to Adventure if no action is taken (have confirmed this, no letter sent says anyone will be moved to Pro, all auto-migration will be to Adventure).  If you have a letter that states you will be moved to Pro and not Adventure I'd be very interested in seeing it!

At Telecom they have forgotten to treat the customer with respect. I am a user since the day they offered roadbed and now I am treated like dirt. What customer service or care is that?

To top it all they even 'lost' all data of my call with a CSR and now I am even more short changed. What a pity I no longer live oversees where I have a choice of providers that are not linked with each other through Telecom's Southern pipeline.

I would challenge someone with authority within Telecom to prove to me that Telecom cannot monitor usage of clients and why they need to make these silly prices for so little.

No-one is holding you to ransom to stay with Telecom.  If you feel they are giving you poor service, swap to another provider who you feel will treat you better.

@ante

All providers go through Telecom so as long as Pacific Fibre is still on paper only one has little to no choice.

In Europe Telecom would have been forced to close shop the way they are operating.

Blame Telecom is getting old.

Why haven't other ISP's built more competing infrastructure?
