Thanks for the replies guys, much appreciated. 300 minutes would be fab actually, I guess my work would pay for any related calls that went over my day time 20 mins a month that way.
I do like the bonus system available pre-paid however, and it may be more flexible. Good thing not being on a contract tho is it only has to last a month at a time before changing if needed. All food for thought, but as I say, much appreciated.
JimmyC: I'm considering the switch to XT from VF but I'm wondering if someone can help me decipher the best option 'cos frankly I'm not making a lot of sense from the website taking into account possible top up bonuses etc. I would be bringing my iPhone 4 with me at the end of the month and am keen to avoid any further ongoing contracts.
Currently I'm on the iPhone 60 plan which includes 60 mins VF-VF only calls, 250mb data and 600 txts. What I'd like to have access to is as much, or more call time to ANY phone in NZ, 250mb of data is good but more would be great, and I really only send 40-50 txts / month. Looking at XT's post-paid options, the One Rate 100 seems very expensive @ $49 (compared to 2Degree's Everyone $30 plan) and by the time I add $18 for 240mb data I'm up to $67 and haven't sent a txt yet.
Could someone assist me in painting a pre-paid XT equivalent if I were to top up $60/month? I can visit the local store ofcourse but since we seem to have some connected experts here I thought I'd ask.

Talk and Text 300 has excess call minutes at 75c/min so if you make all your calls during the day this is not a good option:
$29.95 for the above $30 for an extra 40 daytime minutes at 75c/min
That's $60 per month before you've added data at $18 for 240Mb or $30 for 512Mb
OneBill is not widely advertised and is $10 per month for NO calls. It does include 200 TXTs (so enough for your usage). Your calls are 59c/min (flat rate, any network, any time) = $35.40 for 60 minutes.
$10 for base plan and 200 TXTs $35.40 for 60 minutes (excess is 59c/min compared to 79c/min on iPhone $60) $18 for 240Mb data
$63.40 for the above - there are no "topup" bonuses on XT post-paid plans.
Add another $12 to bring the total to $75.40 if you want 512Mb of data.
This OneBill option is actually very good for you if you don't want the hassle of topping up and want a billed plan. You get approximately what you get currently for roughly the same $60 as with iPhone $60, but again you pay less than with Vodafone if you make less than 60 minutes of calls in the month - make more and you start to get cheaper the more you call because Vodafone excess charges would be 20c/min more than with the OneBill plan. PLUS per second billing after the first minute.
