anyone tried ipv6 on this thing yet 🤔

Works with the mesh units in stand alone mode. Not so much on the modem though IME. Haven't tried with a modem acting as an AP only.

I did use IPv6 for a few weeks while I was with Orcon using a Spark Smart Modem I bought off Trademe... had very early firmware.

And it actually routed? Seems its not forwarding traffic from lan to wan side. It otherwise does PD etc perfectly.

I'm losing hope that Spark are going to ever fix the SSDP/UDP broadcast issue with the Mesh Unit.

maybe @talkiet can follow up with Product on IPv6 and SSDP with large groups - your problem is kinda unique compared to an average home.

Thanks. It's not really that unique. Other apps use SSDP to find UPnP devices, e.g. Panasonic's Viera app.

It's unique due to the share number of devices that's all...

i agree average joe could hit the same issues if they have a big place, an HMO or the likes...

Or if they have a UPnP device (AV receiver, TV, DLNA server) they want to detect, from a device connected to the Mesh.

I did tests with https://ipv6-test.com/ including the IPv6 speed tests. I don't recall doing any isolated IPv6 tests. I am now on Skinny so I can't do any further IPv6 testing.

Does Skinny use the same modem for VDSL? I am thinking of switching to Skinny but do really like the Spark Smart Modem /  Smart Mesh setup. However, Skinny require that you use their modem.

Bonus question - would this modem work with 2 degrees?.

Works for any provider. Some configuration may be required.

Skinny have a slightly different firmware but that's all.

I am on a Skinny fibre and my Skinny Smart Modem firmware remains at v6.00.15b05.

When I swapped to my spare Spark modem on 3 Oct it updated to v6.00.16b01.

Yup, that's the current version, one of the many spark folk about here will have to see why skinny haven't updated given there are some quite major issues in 6.00.15b05

Are people still experiencing problems with the mesh unit?

Mine disappears from the network about twice a day (though it still shows a blue light)  and only comes back when I reboot it.  I am on  v6.00.15 b05 for the skinny spark modem and on 1.008 for the mesh. Mesh signal  strength is -78dBm so I do not think that is the problem.  Is there anything I can do to address this issue. Sorry if this has been discussed before, it is a long thread.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.
