I had to ask nzbnw to sort my Socialiser out the other day. Shame the online system just doesn't seem to work for many people.

I've to say i'm on the edge of leaving Spark because of this Socialiser:

1. I'm not on Spark Socialiser at all as my plan doesn't allow it.
2. When I use Facebook, EVERYTIME i click on an external link, it pops up message warning me about "Standard data charges" blah blah blah.  And I have to click CONTINUE every single time! There is no "don't warn me again"

I'm pretty sure this is caused by Spark because:
1.  This starts to happen when Spark Socialiser was introduced and it has been like that since then
2.  My wife doesn't have this at all (Also running Android same as me, but she's on Vodafone).     And when I swapped my sim card with her one, then all those warning messages disappeared.  But when I put my SPARK sim back in my phone, the warning message comes back!

This is ok when I just read one or two external pages, but become really annoying when I try to read 10, 20 + external pages and the warning message keep popping up every time!

Looks like I'll be moving to 2degree or Vodafone soon

The "standard charges..." message popup on Facebook is a little annoying I agree. There should be a tick box or something that removes the popup message upon confirmation.

Otherwise, I am quite happy with Socialiser. It's great!

Yeah if i'm on socialiser, I probably can withstand it but it's still annoying.

The problem is i'm not even on socialiser!    And I have to suffer from it everyday :(

Yes a simple don't warn me again tick box would have fixed this completely.
I've been waiting for Spark to fix it as I thought it's such a simple no brainer fix.
But I think it probably is easier if I just switch to 2degree

What  sort of phone do you have??  I have an Android on 5.0.1 and never see this check box any longer and I'm not on socializer...

I think it would be Facebook that needs to fix it if the prompt is coming from the Facebook app

It's not only the app. Sometimes I get a prompt on the browser we it's redirected thru facebook too.

I am using a LG G2 with stock ROM  running 4.4

there is no check box (which is the problem)
but has a warning pop up everytime i click on an external link (when I'm on 3G/4G)

But i know of other people using other Android phones also have this problem (sounds like at least a few on this page also have the same problem as well)

It only happens with the Spark sim.   I insert a Vodafone sim card and this gone immediately.

Regs:
knidu: Does anybody know if there's any possibility of this actually working on Windows Phones?

The WP Facebook app wasn't supporting whatever was needed for this - I have been following up internally to find out how and when it will be supported.

The WP twitter app does appear to support it, and I've heard reports of it working, but I cannot verify that at this stage.

FROM Spark: To offset an issue with free Socialiser data earlier this year you get a 500MB data sub free. It's on your account now & lasts 14 days. Enjoy!

This was a memory jogger. Has there been any progress on the WP app? Describing the Android and iOS apps as official was a poor choice by Spark.

I've then reported this to Spark, the online customer service guy wasn't really helpful. Just said I'll report it and didn't even reply to me when I ask can I get an update about it later.

But anyway, looks like Spark has finally fixed it!
Saw the don't warn me again option in the pop up few days ago, I selected it and that message doesn't pop up again! Hooray!

So i guess i can stay with Spark for a while now cool
