Welcome home - I bet it's warmer here.

Read all of this topic plus read this topic Xtra mail blocking authenticated email addresses from sending via SMTP server? and I believe all your questions will be answered.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

Struggling with setting up Outlook for IMAP ..

.. the settings on this page don't work for IMAP .. only seems to work when the incoming server is set to  imap.mail.yahoo.com
https://www.spark.co.nz/myspark/myemail/emailchanges/

And this page is wrong with the instruction for username to be WITHOUT the @xtra.co.nz
https://www.spark.co.nz/help/internet-email/manage-email/updating-your-outgoing-server-settings-to-send-xtra-co-nz/

Are you using Windows XP or Outlook 2011 and earlier on a Mac?

These configurations do not support the required cipher strength required to connect to the services.

Spark's recommendation for Windows XP users was to use Thunderbird or upgrade to a later version of the Windows operating system.

I figured since I don't use flickr so much these days I had nothing to lose migrating it.

Sure enough, 1TB limit and lots of ads. With $5.99US/month if you don't want that for pro.

So to those asking, I can confirm. You do NOT retain the partner pro status

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

I don't know what the Hell's going on. I've changed my account to the free one. My account shows I'm on the free account (1TB). I don't seem to get any ads, but that could just be my adblocker working.

Strangely, I have 860 photos, but it says I'm using 0.0% of 1TB.

Go figure?

I've backed up all the photos to Google Drive just in case everything goes South when Spark pull the plug on Yahoo...

I figure mine has been moved, based on the 200 - odd duplicated emails I was swamped with yesterday.

What happens with newer xtra accounts that were setup later last year. It doesn't appear they can be moved. Can the be setup on the new system ? How are they actually setting up new Xtra email accounts these days?

I had the same thing, a weeks worth of emails redownloaded
I can see this a issue for those with 5-10 years worth of emails they had stored on yahoos email server
:-)

yahoo pop3 timeouts are now a thing of the past .

Yes. Nice one Spark.  I now have triple copies of emails going back two weeks.  I'm guessing (hoping) this will sort itself out in the near future.
