vamsee: Did you have any WiFi issues? Switching WiFi off and On at time was buggy. But restarting the phone itself resolved. On the other firmware I had to reset my router ..
bob234: I decided to give the I9100DXLP7 a try as suggested above and my experience was the same - no more 3rd party sms issues...also some other minor issues I had are gone now too - seems like the LP7 is for phones very similar to ours maybe?

No, no issues whatsoever.

You are using a 9100T right ?

Yes - I have a Telecom NZ purchased Galaxy S2 9100T - purchased late last year.  Until a few days ago I was still on 2.3.3 - as I have said before i'm more of a novice when it comes to rooting etc - very surprised how easy it was to install the new firmware.  To put the LP7 one on I just followed the same steps set out here but with the LP7 firmware instead of LPQ: http://www.theandroidsoul.com/xxlpq/.

Only issue I have encountered is with the Navigation app Sygic which freezes now when phone connects and disconnects from car dock...

I am going to try mobile Odin soon, it roots when it installs

Am a bit new to all this - hadn't heard of mobile odin - but after a quick read am I right that to use that the device needs to be rooted first?  If so, is there an easy way to root my device now that it is on ICS LP7?  I had a look & it sounds like I need the right CF-Root - but can't find one for LP7...  any ideas - do i need to down grade to gingerbread, root, then use mobile odin.???

Odin xxlpq that again and then root via

http://www.theandroidsoul.com/root-xxlpq/

Install mobile odin and then put LP7 on phone and open mobile odin and point it towards LP7 and select  enable everRoot

Tell me how it goes as i have not had time to do it yet :(

but I know it does work fine from internal memory so you dont need a sdcard

There is also an app called triangle away to remove the triangle you will get by flashing the root via desktop odin

App for the triangle, i installed it from here but you can get it from the market

If you download app from here use CWM to install the app

Sorry - i'm a wee bit nervous about rooting.  If I don't like it, can I 'unroot' simply by installing the full LPQ ICS again as set out above?  or is it more convoluted than that?  I have had a look but can't find a simple answer?

to unroot you should just be able to flash any samsung update via odin :)

I am rooted and used triangle program yesterday however :)

mrtoken - I went back to LPQ, then rooted - I was hoping that after rooting I would be able to solve an issue I was having - turned out that wasn't the case - I have now gone back to a non-rooted LP7 - didn't like the phone being rooted (not sure why though!) & there wasn't any reason for me to keep it that way - so sorry, can't tell you if it works...  But you were right, it was easy to unroot!
