A friend has just had hers migrate - appears to have gone smoothly and she seems to think they download faster now :) Her home connection is spark so I assume the email hosting is now on their backbone

Mine is done for all devices and is fine.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

I figure mine has been moved, based on the 200 - odd duplicated emails I was swamped with yesterday.

Yes. Nice one Spark.  I now have triple copies of emails going back two weeks.  I'm guessing (hoping) this will sort itself out in the near future.

In my case it was a one off occurrence, fingers crossed for you. Took the opportunity to switch to imap, suffered pop3 for long enough...

yitz: Spark's recommendation for Windows XP users was to use Thunderbird or upgrade to a later version of the Windows operating system.

So there is something about SSL under XP which is different from W7 SSL?

After failing with Outlook 2007 under Windows XP, I have tried to set up eM Client without success. Has anyone succeeded in getting a mail client to work with XP?

Has Thunderbird been proved to work?

Are these the correct IMAP settings?

imap.xtra.co.nz

port 993 SSL

After "migration", my Inbox is empty. Is this normal? How can I access my old emails?

SHA2 and Cypher/signing capability had advanced and not been included in any updates to XP (abandoned/unsupported)

Chances are you cant.
Go into xtra webmail & see whats there
try yahoo webmail & see if you can still login

Its supposedly works, I havnt tried it though
From xtras website
"RC4 is the strongest cipher supported natively in Windows XP – therefore any mail client that uses the native Windows security suite (such as the Outlook products) will likely not be able to connect. Clients that use their own security suite still may if they support higher encryption standards (e.g., Thunderbird)."

Well the only reason I tried XtraMail is because Yahoo stopped letting me in.

It is the Xtra webmail I'm checking, the Inbox folder is empty but the other folders look like they've been moved over correctly.

I have yet to be migrated, but I have a question. I'm not clear from the replies to this (and other related threads) if Outlook won't work at all with SMX, or only Outlook on XP.

I have Outlook (the latest version that comes with MS Office 365 Home) on Windows 10 AE. Will I still be able to get my xtra email on IMAP with this combination? Thanks in advance.

Yes you will.

Office 2003/2007 uses the base security of the OS, and in XP its out of date. On other OSs they are fine.

I opted in in November 2016. I received a few emails since confirming the opt-in and saying that all is going according to plan.

I got switched over last night, none of my inbox emails have been moved and I cannot access them currently, Spark support says they need to escalate and there's nothing else I can do.

Just now I received an email from Spark into my new inbox saying the migration process has gone smoothly and to start enjoying the new xtra mail. Currently the only email I have in my inbox.
