thanks mate.

I just discovered the login page but thats just too random as the password only lasts an hour and there is no option to change the temp password.

Go figure.

When connected via the t-stick goto http://yt.telecom.co.nz/mobile

you can then change the password - also top up and do other stuff

Go figure.

You can change your password at: https://pwm.telecom.co.nz/pwm/private/changepassword then it will be set for a year, rather than 1 hour.

Why is there no obvious way to find out usage and balance information for the T-Stick?

The booklet which comes with the stick gives no clues, and that which comes with the SIM card suggests "call *333" or "visit Your Telecom" - neither of these methods work. Instead, we should visit telecom.co.nz/mbbmeter or yt.telecom.co.nz/mobile - so why are these barely advertised? The link to the former on the Telecom website is well buried and the latter does not seem to have a link at all - it is only mentioned here.

Even after finding these links, an important piece of information seems to be missing. Since it is necessary to top up every 6 months, there must be a date in June next year before which more credit must be added. Is there any way to find out what this date is?

Got a phone call from Telecom saying "ZTE are developing drivers for the device (MF626) but don't know when they will be released."
But I won't hold my breath.

Sup, When I brought mine I had to supply an email address. (funny it was an 'ihug' one too). Anyhow.... I recieved an email as soon as I connected and within this was the link to check usage.

I do agree it was hard to find this information....

is this for your macbook?

Mine works fine using the connection manager, however each time I insert the stick System Pref pops up and tells me "the following network devices are not configured" and then I just ignore that. hahahah

The date is usually the anniversary of your account activation. i.e. the day you first used your T Stick e.g. 21st December 2009 plus 6months would become 20th June 2010

64bit Mac OS X 10.6

32Bit is fine..ish. Not 100% though.

I also like the interface better, once changed that will be your password for the mbbmeter login too.

I tried this but I only got taken to a generic Telecom search page, no way to login? Also, couldn't use the other mentioned http://pdaportal.telecom.co.nz I guess that's not for netbooks ;)

At least I can use a temp password in the meantime. It'd be great if the connection manager could query SIM balance.

You can check your balance via http://www.telecom.co.nz/mbbmeter which is separate from "Your Telecom" password as it runs in the CWA environment.

To change your CWA password from the 1 time password that expires in 1 hour, or set it to expire in 1 year you need to go to: https://pwm.telecom.co.nz/pwm/private/changepassword

The mbbmeter page really should have a link to the above.........

Your "Your Telecom" password can be reset in the YT Portal.
