If anyone wants to DM some specific examples (time, phone#, location and problem experienced) ideally from the last few days as it’s easier to grab logs - will try and get someone to take a look.

Did you make a change? I no longer see 5G in the affected areas, so no longer face the drop out/handoff issues.

@gajan you should really tag them into your post

I'd need some details (time, location, etc. to confirm) - our team constantly optimise, improve coverage with new sites, add capacity etc.

So no changes made to the mobile network

@gajan Springs/Amyes/Shands Road, Hornby seems to be fine now. Previously upload was sub-1 Mbps.

Spoke too soon. Issue is back driving along Amyes Road onto Shands Road and up to The Hub. No data transfer at all. This time on 4G.

Just tried on my partners phone. No data transfer also on both 4G and 5G. Both using iPhone 17 Pro and 16 Pro. Spark doesn’t work in Hornby. So odd!

I’m an admin on the main Tesla Facebook communities - lots of people reporting data instability since the 3G shutdown. Teslas roam on Spark using a Telstra AU sim.

When I drive to town I’ve found many areas around the Wellington CBD cause the Tesla’s modem to fully drop mobile signal going into offline mode and this isn’t just me seeing this either.

It would be great if Tesla used a local sim instead of roaming, but would be good to get this one looked at a bit closer. @gajan I’ll flick you the IMEI of my vehicle to see if you can spot anything odd.

boosacnoodle:I’m aware of at least four Spark sites that have been sitting completely inactive:

The three remaining sites have been created and certified on RSM, but don't appear to be switched on yet (cell is locked out?). I've also recently learned of another site at Shands Road, Hornby. Gonna be glowing shortly!

Yaldhurst Road is another one that isn't showing on RSM yet but is still being built, I think.

I saw a new Spark site in Petone Central, Wellington (near the new One NZ Petone Central site and 2degrees Petone) over the weekend. Nothing on RSM yet and no 5G gear installed at the top so maybe no radio gear installed yet.

if that’s the one on Jackson St in front of Woolworths - it’s been there for a while - at least November last year

Noticed Spark’s removed 5g for Hawea on their coverage map. Not sure if the 5g coverage itself has gone - but it seemed to work pretty well last time I was there.

Thanks for those that DM'd me with details of issues relating to coverage / performance - we're looking into these. We have a form as well were reports can be logged directly and these get triaged etc -

https://www.spark.co.nz/online/help/mobile/mobile-coverage-issue

as always as much detail as possible and as close to the event occuring is always helpful for the teams to find / trackdodwn events.

note also we do have a dedicated 3G triage team - 0800 3G EXIT ( 0800 343 948) that are available to handle queries that arose specifically after 3G closure on 31st March.

Would guess that they've decided to remove Samsung gear (perhaps keeping the exisiting Huawei gear for 4G) and then later returning to install Nokia gear. Interesting as up here in Auckland normally they've just done (Huawei+Samsung Hybrid)-to-(full Nokia) in one go. Not seen any where they've done one and the other at different times.
