Hi all
Until recently, my DSL rates were high 16mbit downstream and 940 kbit or so upstream. Attenuation was 21db and noise 11db
I noticed a few weeks ago it was 12 mbit down and about 800 kbit up. At that time, the attenuation was 37db and noise 12db
Last week Chorus decided the issue was a network fault due to the linetest, and no need to visit, but they did and said it was the jackpoint which they fixed. Then the connect rate was 14mbit. Attenuation 21db and noise 10.6db. A little odd as I thought it would at least go back to the very consistent high 16's as above.
Tonight, its 9473 kbit down and 791 up. Attenuation is 38db noise is 13.9.
I'm a bit miffed, as while the speed has been slower but still seemingly stable, I am concerned over the high level of variability.
For the experts I've seen on here on this topic, is this variability typical of anything network related, moisture related or anything else?
Stats are below as of tonight, modem is TP-Link W8960N, was a DLink 604T , then Thomson TG585 v7, modem stats always been very consistent. No changes in any phone/modem related hardware here. Have a splitter, with filter on that jack for the cordless. Isolated cables, filter, etc as per usual with no change.
Tks all
