Hi I am trying to set up a Telecom T Stick broadband connection for my mother in law who has a HP tablet. I also have a D link wireless router DIR 412 which I was hoping to plug the t stick to. With my laptop I need to run telecom's Connectme software which of course the HP can't run. Is there a way around this?

not 100% sure about the HP supporting it but Telecom do sell a wireless router with a USB port for their T stick as a backup connection, so I'd say there would be a way to do it, just not sure if someone has developed a driver for the tablet yet or if it even needs it and can't be done in some generic way.

Set up the 412 as per the 3g instructions ie via Ethernet cable or Wireless, once set up it will connect the 'T' stick to the net, you then connect to the 412 via wireless from your laptop or tablet, works very well..

Tried again last night with no luck - very frustrating. Are you using a Telecom stick - I have a telecom stick MF190, maybe its not compatable with the dir 412 router. Would be interested in the settings you used if you have them. I am able to connect to the router by wireless connection, its the t stick that doen't seem to be connecting

I have a MF636 stick.

the setup instructions are on page 3 of the 'Quick Installation Guide'

router selected to 3G
Plug T stick into Router.
Connect Ethernet cable Router to Computer.
Open web browser and enter http://192.168.0.1
Enter admin as user name.
Leave password field blank.
You can use Setup Wizard to configure the DIR-412, or do it yourself

Good luck  Smile

Thanks Graymond for your help. Have been through the process again tonight following instructions to the letter without luck. Have been on the dlink support website and have found that my two t sticks MF 190 and MF 181 are not on the list of devices compatable - yours is! Maybe this is the problem. Thanks again, Ross
