Hi guys, mate of mine is upgrading his modem setup, he might be passing his old tg585v7 onto me. It's still better then the one I have to some degree. However, I've owned one in the past, and the firmware is really crippled, and it bugs me If he did pass it onto me I'd like to load a generic firmware on where certain features aren't locked, or you need to edit some ini file in the router config to change them. I've tried in the past, and it just says something like "Not Compatible" when I try to do this.

Can it be done?
