Does anybody know what the warranty is on the Telecom branded wireless modems nowadays? Mines playing up - its probably around 2 years old.

I know Ive had a DLINK replaced by Telecom before but I think the warranties on those were 3 (or was it 5) years!

Given the new ones are no longer DLINK, whats the warranty?

Thanks guys.

The TG585 is not a business modem (they used to use 2Wire modems for their business customers).

I would say it is out of warranty, and if you are using it for business purposes, the consumer guranatees act will not apply.

I would say, however, if you are willing to re-sign with them, they will provide a new modem.

Thanks for the reply. Its not for business as its my home modem. I've asked them about resigning (a month or two ago) and the answer was that the free modem is only for new customers.

I was looking at switching to Orcon anyway so perhaps this is the tipping point...

Still, I would be interested to find out the exact warranty. Seems to vary online amongst providers overseas from 6 to 18 months.

Using the email us button on their contact us page would be the least hassle most direct way of finding out, seems to go straight into their helpdesk ticketing system and you'll usually get a fairly prompt reply.

Call Telecom and ask for the retention team - they will probably be able to help you - they did for me - I was offered a free modem or free TiVo to re-sign with telecom. Took the tivo.

As been said before speaking with a retention specialist should be able to re-sign you for 12 months and sort out a new modem.  If you have any problems and you could e-mail me at pl at telecom dot co dot nz and I can forward you through to the retention team and they should be able to sort you out.  The new Technicolor TG582n is a great modem.
