Hi there, I'm posting this on behalf of a friend of mine who's currently without adsl.

He said he got curious, and was was experimenting with the different DSL type settings on the modem and he said when he changed it back to the default ADSL2+ setting he was unable to reconnect, and apparently there's no broadband, or adsl light on the modem at all. He said he's not even picking up a sync speed.

He said he contacted Telecom, and they said that they'd look into it tomorrow however I was wondering that if I posted on geekzone, the process would get sped up a little.

Thanks

If he's changed the modem it's unlikely to be anything but the modem settings causing the issue - you can't cause problems elsewhere by setting incorrect modulation settings.

Thanks for the replies guys, however I passed it onto him and he says he's done all that, and it didn't help. He said he has 2 modems. A standard TG-585v7 (Which is standard Telecom issue), and a newer TP-Link modem he bought recently and neither of them want to connect. He needs service restored soon, because he's getting it from his family members for "Stuffing it up"

Would be nice if a rep from Telecom could help him out.

Thanks

I take it he has called Telecom?
It is weird, him changing ADSL settings should not cause his line to lose sync, but it does sound like an unlikely coincidence.

I guess he can try resetting the router to factory default and reenter settings as per tigercorp suggestion.
