Has anyone else recieved this letter from Telecom?
The relevant bits...

"... from Sunday 2 July,... usage meter will stop recording your usage... System upgrade... Which means for a limited time we are unable to measure your data usage... Your data allowances are not applied for the duration.
In the week starting 28 October the usage meter will begin recording usage again... Usage limits will reapply"

Woohoo, so unlimited usage for 4 months?? Glad I just bought a new 2TB drive!

Cheers,
Joseph

After much stubborn fiddling, as I am determined to only use my iPad, here is the letter.
Perhaps it is only one exchange or subset of users affected?

Asked someone and reply was "dates are correct", it is just for some tivo customers (this is important as not al tivo customers would have got that letter) so only the ones with the letter get this behaviour.

I'm looking into this with the level 3 broadband support folks.  If you could email me your customer number and account number to pl at telecom dot co dot nz and I will look into it.

Guys, Richard here from Telecom - not aware of this, or how many customers this has gone to. With Peter, I'll investigate and see what the story is, cheers.

I've made a terrible mistake!

I probably should have kept my mouth shut, I am more than happy to have unmetered broadband for 4 months, please don't take this away from me!

Cheers,
Joseph

Spoke to Peter and explained the story: it is true and the letter having a typo on the date of course is a bit of an error!! it does affect some TiVo customers (but not all) and it is a complex bit of work that takes the time.

Well, I'm more curious than ever. Did only TiVo owners get this letter and are only TiVo users affected?
That seems very odd indeed.

Cheers,
Joseph

I thought this it is 4 months for TiVo users on BBA only. So not everyone.

But then again Telecom may have decided its easier to give free unlimited usage for all BBA users.... I wouldn't be surprised.

No it is not all TiVo customers, it is some. The term BBA is a long story: it is to do with government regulations and separation etc.

And no it is only 6400 customers who will get this treatment and NOT all: the remainder will continue to be throttled / charged excess based on plan type.
