I Just bought a samsung off trademe and it doesnt work on any networks in New Zealand. It originally had Telecom stock firmware in it and the seller said its software was corrupt so need new software. So i installed stock android software fo it but the problem of Emergancy calls only continues.
-
I can a to access mobile data on telecom but it is unable to connect to telecom network.

-It sees the network fine and all but somethings dogdy about this phone.

-Its not blacklisted or anything so I dont know what to try next.

Please help.

Possible radio issue, send it back to the Trademe seller. Or place negative feedback

What is the CSC version on the phone?

I have moved across the ditch. Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

Im quite skilled in the techy world and the seller said samsung told her that all she needed to to is install a fresh version of stock software and it would work fine.

Its not the sim either and the networks fine. What do I try now ?

I may be wrong here but if you have LFB build you will need LFB modem, I had an issue when I flashed a non LFB modem and was told it needed to be the same as the build.

Download the VNZ firmware from this site and going to try flash it with vodafone. And see how it goes.

LFD ? not up with the android lingo sorry.

its the build number version of your ROM, go to settings then "about device "and check your baseband version and build number. If your build is LFB then you baseband should be as well , not an issue on other builds but apparently it is on LFB

Yeap, it LFB. :( Im stumped for options. It cant register the sim maybe its hardware problem ?

Looks like you might have been duped. I had the same issue with my Galaxy S2 when the radio hardware failed. Also why would it matter that it's a woman?
