Is there a better alternative to the Thomson TG585 v8. I am getting some NAT negotiations issues when trying to play/connect to some games in Company of Heroes.

After doing all the port forwarding that has been suggested. I still get red x's to almost half of the games and when trying to connect to the red x's a Nat error comes up. Yet the other half, I can connect to with no problems. After some Google'n ...there has been talk of some issues with Thomson TG585 v8 and COH - causing Nat problems.

If someone could just recommend some better alternative's...I would appreciate it.

After some final last ditch searching. Had to do some things via telnet, issue might be fixed. Now connecting to red x'd games now.

Yeah they have some weird NAT issues, you have to Telnet into the device and remove some bindings

Had to do a similar thing on an earlier model, documented here for prosperity

I have also heard good reports of the latest Telecom supplied router the TG582n and can't confirm if it's correct or not but you can try ringing up the helpdesk and I believe if you sign up to your current plan they will send you a new modem.  Can't confirm 100% if its the case but worth asking if you're happy to sign up for 12 months and not currently locked into a plan.

Other good modems if you feel like putting your hand in your pockets are the TP Links and the Draytek Vigor 120 is a great non-wifi modem since you can run it in bridging mode if that appeals to you.

Thnks for the replies.

Ragnor what I ended up doing was a little different vs what they showed in the link you provided. I ended up doing this in Telnet.
:connection bind application=CONE(UDP) port=6112

:connection bind application=CONE(UDP) port=9100

:connection bind application=CONE(UDP) port=30260

:connection bind application=CONE(UDP) port=9101

:connection bind application=CONE(UDP) port=30275

As per another thread I found here 14th post. The OP was having issues with Call Of Duty Black Ops on PS3 with a diff model Thomson.

This is something new to me.

Seems to have done the trick.

plambrechtsen - That would certainly be something to consider maybe someday. But to be honest the current Thomson is performing very well to date. Company of Heroes is the only game (so far) I have come across, that required a little more than the usual ordinary port forwarding. Should also mention it has worked well with the ipad and itouch as well.
