Has anyone figured out how to add a horn alert ot the Motorola M800 car kit?  I think in the states they have a white wire or something that makes it horn alert capable my brother has a m800 car kit and wants it hooked up to the horn but nobody can do it.

So that your horn goes off if your phone rings?

On the NZ version there are only 4 wires: +12V, GND, IGN, MUTE so no facility for a horn alert.

The Privacy Handset has a button - when pressed the call is no longer routed through the speaker.

The horn honk wire is missing out of the wiring loom of the nz version. If you find someone that knows what they are doing it can be added and it will work.

Thank you so much to those who responded! For further info.  I have spoken with a guy that does installs and he has had a look.  There is 5 wires going in to the loom and only 4 coming out.  I guess it may void the warranty but its worth it to have an external alert in this situation.

should be able to do it without voiding warranty if you can find the wire *somewhere*. To get warranty service the device must be de-installed anyway, so as long as no trace of the connection is visible, you would be fine (unless you really muff something up).

Put a multimeter across it, and call the phone, if the wire generates a current only while the phone is ringing, then thats your baby. Hook it up to a relay, and preferably switch it too - I could imagine a hundred situations where you wouldnt want it happening.

I would be inclined to wire it so it would only go off if the ignition were switched to "accessory". Your mileage may vary.
