Since the nokia 6255 is now end of life - which phone do they replace it with if your phone isnt repairable/lost?

Just wondering since im paying $6.99 a month for insurance

satellitesam: the same or a phone of equivalent value

Partly incorrect. Remove value from the equation. Telecom Mobile Insurance have a policy of 'like for like'. An example of this would be if a customer had a Sanyo 7400 and made a claim, and MobIns decided to replace the handset then they would replace it with the Sanyo 7500 or a phone of the customer’s choice where the customer may have to pay the balance in DBP.

I would guess a likely replacement for the 6255 would be the 6165.

I smell a fraudulent claim coming up.

No No - if you only get a Nokia 6165 as a replacement I dont think its worth paying for, it has better specs but no removeable storage which I would need if it broke. I think as Insurance customers telecom should provide a list with what you would get so when your phone does go EOL the customer can make their mind up if its worth continuing with the service.

I don't buy insurance from mobile operators. A few years back a burglar entered my house and the only item taken was a Telecom mobile phone, before the alarm went off and s/he ran away.

I called State Insurance and claimed it under the house contents insurance. In a couple of days I got a call from a Telecom dealer with a new mobile phone, same model. When an old PDA crashed to the floor, they sent me a cheque since the model wasn't available anymore and I had the option of buying something else (that's how I got a Pocket PC instead of a Palm).

I don't think it's worth paying yet another insurance...

I would say that the decision to have mobile insurance would depend on the details of your home insurance policy, the potential risk of its use (eg a builder would have a higher risk factor than compared with someone working in an office)  and the value of the handset. I have my  Harrier insured but my wifes Sanyo 3100 is not.
