Hi there.

When we were on Slingshot, I asked them to Remove us from the Telephone directory.

They removed it within a few hours I requested it.

When we signed over from Slingshot to Telecom, we specifically requested to have a unlisted number when we signed the form, otherwise we get harassed to death by cold callers. We got assured that would happen.

Well, after we signed up to Telecom, we had an increased volume of cold calls, and upon further investigation revealed that we had been relisted in the telephone directory against our wishes, I contacted Telecoms 123 helpdesk, and I spoke to somebody somewhere in Asia, and she apologized for this.

Then she asked if I would like to change to a blacklisted number, and I agreed. She said this would come into effect soon, however it still hasn't happened. We are still listed in the phone directory, and every day we get more and more calls.

I'm not happy with Telecom/Chorus, despite us clearly instructing them not to list us, they just go ahead and do the exact opposite.

Hope this gets sorted.

Thanks

If you could email me pl @ telecom.co.nz your home line number I can investigate further as to why you are still showing up in the white pages.

Normally a call to 123 is the best path to get it done, plus I highly recommend everyone signs up to the Do Not Call register too for the more honest marketing companies abide by that.

When did you talk to the CSR and asked to be removed?

Chorus has nothing to do with this as it is not a telephony provider.

Just be aware that most of the telemarketer calls aren't coming from white pages listings. Not having your phone number listed won't mean you won't get calls.

I thought the directory was owned and managed by the Yellow Pages Group, or whatever they are called? In other words Telecom are just another customer.

I am not sure where this error lies but obviously it is up to your service provider (Telecom) to get sorted.

My only comment is that my past dealings with 'Yellow' over yellow pages and white pages listings have been nothing but trouble and error ridden, and there customer service was great until they had my money, then no one wanted to know. No wonder they are going broke.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

Correct. Yellow Pages is not part of Telecom, Chorus is not part of Telecom.
