When I was previously a subscriber with Orcon and now with Telecom, I noticed the same issue that at 1am I would lose internet connection on several occasions. There's nothing wrong with all the hardware in the house and the provided software diagnostic on Telecom's provided router said that

"No ATM activity Detected"

And that PPP connection is down.

I'm curious. What happens at 1am?
