when i cancel my telecom BB acct and move to another ISP- do i have to return my modem, TG582n?
i cannot remember if i bought it or it was given for free-12month contract?

farcus: yes! You have to take it to your nearest Post Office along with your rental telephone.
but . . . . seriously though - the modem is yours. You should be able to use it with your next isp.

Jaxson: 3 of us went to Telecom at the same time recently and we've all got the standard white Telecom offering modem. 1 has just failed after 3 months or so and was replaced free of charge.
Telecoms set up associate something in the modem with the account holder automatically, presumably the MAC address perhaps or the phone number of the line it's on? It all means that the set up on Telecom accounts is very easy, but there's nothing stopping you from moving to another provider. With the new provider you'll just have to enter the correct user name and password for that ISP is all.
