Really depends why you have ADSL rather than ADSL2+, without knowing if this it's impossible to know.

Depends exactly on what needs to happen here.
There can be a number of reasons why your VDSL2 installation can be delayed. If you're on an ISAM, then I would not have thought there should be any delays relating to which variant of ADSL you are on (as this is just configuration). There can be delays if Chorus do not have a VDSL card in the cabinet.

Another possible reason for delays is if you are on Telecom's former network technology known as FIPD. We are in the process of migrating all customers to our newer network, and there are not many customers left on FIPD - and even fewer than can get VDSL. If this is the case, then it can take up to two weeks to get migrated depending on when your bill cycle falls. For most customers this process is a lot faster than 2 weeks.

If there is anything you'd like me to take a look at, PM me your details and I can take a look.

I have adsl1 which i didn't know because my dad got our broadband in 2008 and we just picked the first plan we seen on the telecom website. That's why i have adsl1 lmao im right in a vdsl2 zone my cabinet is 100 meters away from my house.

Anyway telecom said my connection is being migrated i just wanted a second opinion on here for how long it takes. They said upto 2 weeks i've seen other people say 2 to 4 working days.

I never knew about adsl2 in 2008 and we haven't changed our internet since 2008 except for our data cap which is now 120 gb
Anyway i naturally thought i had adsl2 anyway because the router had adsl2 written on it lol but that's beside the point. I live in Christchurch City. All i need to know is an answer to my question please.

It could have, did you PM Dave (cbrpilot) or you could PM me your home line number and we could check what the story is.

Normally if you have been upgraded you would be on ADSL2, but you would still be on ADSL1 if your modem is so old and doesn't support ADSL2+

VDSL requires being sub 600 meters from the Exchange/Cabinet, and the cabinet being a new ISAM.

Sounds like you are on FIPD - which has nothing to do with ADSL1 vs ADSL2+.  You are more than likely on ADSL2+ on FIPD.
Yes if you do a move-address, you will stay on FIPD.

As I said, it may not be the full two weeks.  I just had a chat to the team who do the migrations, and there is a batch going through tonight.  If you PM me your number I can find out if you're on that list.
