Given all the threads lately on perceived bad service I thought I'd give my experience I had to day.

There has been a lot of movement in pricing so thought I'd change mobile plans from the current Open Term $59 to the new $39 as I get the same amount of data for $20 less, good deal in my books.

Went online saw the chat box so thought I'd ask, 7 minutes later it was all done, painless and very impressed, I only expected to get some info.

Yes they make it damn easy and painless. I swapped from old open plan to new open plan in a similar timeframe no hassles

I should chime in here too as I forgot to post about it earlier. We recently moved house, and the phone and broadband switchover was perfectly executed. We moved our existing number, I booked the move through the online form on the website. On the day of the move I got a text advising the broadband was ready, and the phone connection was moved within about 10 minutes of the specified time, on a Saturday. Completely painless and very well done. Only a minor thing but it's always nice when things go very smoothly. Good stuff, Telecom.

Cheers,
Joseph

Went into the Queen St store, and the store manager himself got the same job done for me in under 10 minutes. Only thing was that my data usage meter didn't work for the next day but it fixed itself afterwards.

The chat box appears on several pages of the website where customers tend to need the most assistance.  For example, you can see it on the right hand side of this page:

https://www.telecom.co.nz/broadband/change

Cheers. I'd like to see it added to the help and support pages please, that to me seems the logical place for it.

Good post.

I too have never had a bad experience dealing with Telecom CSOs. They seem to go out of their way to get you on a plan that is the best value for what you need. I think 3 thime in the last 2 years, when I have called them about something else, they have changed my Phone/Broadband and mobile plans to save me money.

I see all these other providers out there, with great deals, but I would find it too hard to move away for a small benefit. Service is valuable.

Oh, and the Telecom peeps on here are great too (as are the other ISPs by the way, great way to interact with your customers - more businesses should look at these forums and others).

I signed up for 2 $39 open ultra business plans last friday.

Rep (Vincent) came and dropped the sims off at my work that afternoon, signed the paperwork and numbers ported from voda on the monday.

Speed and coverage better than voda at home, also getting 750MB more data, more minutes and unlimited text for $20 less a month.

Happy.
