Where are you based? Also have you done an isolation test? Got a master filter installed?

Something is definitely wrong with your line here. Could be the modem, could be something else.
Are you able to post the stats from you "old" modem?

Also if you could advise of how your internal wiring is set up? E.g. how many jackpoints do you have? Are you using filters? Do you have any devices without filters? Are you using a phone extension chord to get to your modem?

G.dmt is ADSL1. Does your new modem allow you to force ADSL2+ (G.992.5) - assume so as you imply you've set it to ADSL? What does at sync at in this case? What did your old modem sync at?

Hi,

May sound strange but you could be plugging your phone into the Phone side of the filter.
I had an example of someone with a HG556a on the Vodafone Red Network. They got 256k down.

Cheers

A little bit late to this thread but If I was to guess at one possible cause this would also be it.

Plugging in the wrong side won't increase attenuation but depending on the quality of the filter will allow some low frequency stuff through which typically means you'll see upstream show a higher sync rate than downstream.
