In Sept Telecom change their billing format.
Unfortunately they now include promotional photos on the bill.
In June, July, Aug the bills were always 35Kb, this month it's up to 1.3Mb
Does someone know if I can swap back to the old 'lite' bill format?

Past bill file sizes in Kb

I'm not sure you can change back, it's a new bill format and I don't think a 1.3mb file size was considered excessive.

I'll ask around and see if anything can be done.

I agree with OP. I think that the increase in file size is unnecessary

Wow, I think this is the first time I've ever heard anyone complaining about the file size of their bill, instead of the dollar value ;)

Classic

This is why UFB was created so Telecom bills don't slow down the interwebs when delivered by email

Well Vodafone bill is around 50KB. I don't understand why Telecom bill has to be 20x bigger.

Lol I don't think it's an issue and a good way for them to show their promotions. Ask for a paper copy if unhappy :)

There's a few use cases where this extra size is a pain.
You want to look at the online bill on your phone.
You want to save the bill and upload for sharing (e.g. flatmates).
You want to archive multiples years of bills for accounting e.g. 7 years = 111Mb vs 3Mb (using worst and best case extremes)

A workaround for the last two, I have deleted the images from the PDF and the size is down to 55kb. It's just a shame when things were looking so good for a while.

3 Pages, 1 billing item!

Page 1 is a past and current summary with a wide image at the bottom that says "Got Questions? Get Answers."
Page 2 is a 3/4 page image that says "Check in anytime @ mytelecom" with billing options at the bottom.
Page 3 is just my single billing item, nice and clean.

mine is 5 pages, and 517kb. Have never looked at their size before, so not sure what the old ones were.

*shrug* honestly, I wouldn't really care if they were 10mb. Still small enough to load quickly and be stored easily.

yes, I can see how storing 111MB of content is very expensive and challenging to do.  My PC only has 1TB of hard drive

And uploading a 1MB file  on a 1Mbps ADSL connection takes a whopping 10 seconds.

How ca you possibly live with such a situation?
