Good find! Surprises me that CDMA shutdown was important enough for shirts to be handed out.

Lot of people worked on it. So there were tee's printed for a fair number of folks who worked long hours getting it all done.

When I was there there was one chap in my team who wore these shirts almost every Friday, he said it was his "pride and joy" - there's a few of these shirts hanging around, I tried getting one for the hell of it :)

There is still the odd cellsite I've seen around Hamilton where it looks like the CDMA antennas are still on the masts (Dinsdale for example)

Personally I would have thought that equipment would be remotely powered down, and then pulled out at the next scheduled site maintanence visit.
I wouldnt have thought there would be a mad rush to pull it all out so quick.

Did customers on AMPS or DAMPS get to keep their 025 number when they moved to CDMA?

No, they killed DAMPS the day before portability started.

Well that kinda sucks :P

People could still have 025 numbers just to make things more interesting

How many 025 numbers do you see advertised?
