Make sure the inbox on the phone is not full, if it has to delete a message to make room for a new one, it won't vibrate. Something to do with the software, if you get no joy, take it back and upgrade to something like a Nokia 6235

When and where did you buy it?

You need to take it back to the retailer and go from there.

Yeah would definatly recommend taking it back.
The phone box and everything you got with it. Dont forget your purchase docket and get it replaced and/or swapped out for something better like the 6235 someone above recommended.
