I have a 2Talk SIP account setup on my cellphone, and I've just noticed that it no longer connects when on 3G\4G. Works fine as soon if I'm on WiFi, but on either the internet.telecom.co.nz or direct.telecom.co.nz APNs, it will no longer work. It definitely did so in the past but now I just get connection timeouts.

I've tried the native Android functionality and the Bria softphone app. Have also tried forcing 3G instead of 4G, but no dice.

Is port 5060 and/or UDP traffic getting blocked somewhere now?

This was reported to me a few days ago by another geekzoner.

If you could log a fault with the Mobile Support desk on 0800 800 163 and send me an email (pl at telecom.co.nz) with the case number.  I can forward it through to the tech also working on the other issue.

Having the exact same issue with a VOIP application. It did work some time ago but no longer works over 3G. Wifi is fine.

Did you get any answer to this?

Probably related to the APN issues on the 4G SIM.

Yip I fully realise that - but the issue is the 4G SIM. The network you use doesn't matter.

The 3G SIM has a different backend so the issue with inbound traffic doesn't occur.

And if you put in a 2D SIM it works fine.  This problem applies to bit Telecom and Skinny.  I'm using a T-Stick..
