I have a TK-102 GPS tracker with a vodafone card in it. It is only GSM.

When I SMS interrogate it with a Skinny device I get replies similar to this:

+lP_¥ù Æ7f¿1sùØ6ahiΘsFK3fPI¥fΩΠlÜ9;&'L5ÖH)¥&ÅΣ0Æ1Θì.Y2dt¡q"F

If I interrogate with Voda or 2 degree sim phones I get the message in English as it should be.

Yes I know. Are you suggesting a GSM phone can't communicate with a WCDMA one?

LOL.  They said the device had a Vodafone card in it.   They sent the device an SMS from Skinny and the response was corrupted .:)

I would be interested to know what happens if you use a Telecom SIM as we share the same network.

I will try to test it with a Telecom phone when I find a mate with one.

Update. I have tried to interrogated from a friend's Telecom phone with a Telecom Sim and still get the corrupted reply back as a text. When I interrogate from 2 degrees I get the position, battery charge, imei, etc in the text returned. For some reason Telecom/Skinny can't pass the message.
