Hi all,

Apparently I have to wait for Android 4.3 update to come out for the G2 so that it can be used on 4G network. Is this correct? Currently running 4.2.2

The Telecom guys would be able to answer that but if its just an update issue then you could just flash a 4.3 rom, bit scary the first time and can void your warranty but never get frustrated waiting for an update again

bit of info on xda-developers not sure if that will help at all but if its locally purchased it may indeed need an update from Telecom

I have telecom sim in which is 4g. This same sim has been used in an ipad at same location without issue.
The phone was purchased at parallel imported. Specs on box show LTE 1800Mhz

Note that those settings reset every time you restart the phone.

When I got one here from LG and pointed it out to the LG team they said they didn't know anything about it...

Le sigh.

As a workaround you could use a Tasker script to run e.g. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.andirc.lteonfoff on bootup.

I'm on a grandfathered vodafone plan with no 4G access so it doesn't really affect me :D

one reason why people use iphones. of course if you need rooting, flash, big screen, sd card, etc etc we are still stuck in 3rd world product user-friendliness

Telecom don't sell the G2, it's only (officially) available through Harvey Norman locally, who claim it is 2degrees branded (But I understand that is likely due to the relationship HN have with 2d rather than it actually being a 2d-branded device). Telecom have nothing to do with the update process for this device, so it'll be updated on LG's schedule and may not resolve the issue at all.

Feedback best sent to LG, although, as Freitasm notes, LG's Australia-based frontline support are not the most aware of the goings-on in the NZ market (Matches my experiences as well).

3845#*802#,then the secret menu will come up...Then:

1. Go to LTE-Only
2. Modem Settings
3. RAT Selection
4. Select GSM / WCDMA / LTE auto or what ever selection you want
