Early this morning (21st Jan) the international upload traffic on bigpipe exceeded the download traffic for the first time. At one point upload bandwidth was more than double download.

We only have a small number of customers of course, so we get a lot of peaks and troughs, but still it's very unusual for that to be the case, even at that time in the morning.

Probably has to do with the very high proportion of customers we have on our Turbo plan (VDSL) doing backups overnight and/or seeding torrents making good use of the 10Mbps upload speed.

Good to see people getting the most out of VDSL and not just using it for faster download.

Might go to show that if you build it, they will come.
I think ISPs/Decision makers have always assumed that download bandwidth was the be all and end all, now that higher bandwidth uploads are available, people are using it.

As i said before, adsl2+ annexA is a huge barrier NOW for users due to slow upload stream :)

My understanding is you've beaten that horse to death already. Time to leave it alone.

You've got as much chance of having it implemented as changing the electricity supply to 110V/60Hz. Zero.

I was busy downloading / seeding a new Linux ISO called "Catching Fire" of which was uploading at approx 8mbit. I'm impressed with Bigpipe :)

Here's my connection stats.. So far I'm very impressed with BigPipe..

I have a flat with 4 people, we all use streaming services/media (320kb electro/dubstep stream) tvnz ondemand << Not working , Netflix youtube etc.

Plus 3 of us like gaming (Battlefield 4) and I have a Synology NAS which is accessible via 3G/Remote users

starting to take advantage of upload as well. currently testing crashplan uploading my 300GB pictures (my whole family life) to AU server for (free for 30 days).

if all good, then will do my backup my mac (another 300GB). It's good to invest cloud backup nowadays.
