So i know you cant call over 4G but what about texting, how does that work?

I haven't noticed my phone dropping back to 3G when sending and receiving texts.

also, when do you think Vodafone will have a voip over 4G product? Is it even in the pipeline? Or are you just going to use 3G fallback for ever.

EDIT: whoops! posted this on mobile and realised it was in the wrong forum, meant to put it on the vodafone one! but the question remains open for all three companies!

SMS uses 3G

As for calling on 4G VoLTE is pretty much the solution but despite gaining some traction isn't necessarily going places quickly hence the reason 99% of LTE handsets and networks don't support it yet.

SMS is carried directly over the 4G network - and doesn't require your phone to "fall back" to 3G. Current mobile voice services are only supported on 3G and hence the fallback.

My comments and remarks are not necessarily of my employer.
