So, I picked up a new Telecom SIM today cause I wanted to port my 2D number over...

However, when I also requested a topup voucher, the person that "helped" me didn't print out the voucher and instead proceeded to put it straight onto the new Telecom SIM I just bought =="

I have a day left before my plan expires on 2D so was gonna port it over tomorrow..however, if I do, that would mean I lose the $20 on my unused Telecom SIM right?

I dont think so. The number port should just mean that you get a new number for your telecom sim, not lose your plan or credit on that sim.

Probably not, I would assume the credit is associated to the sim number as opposed to the phone number

In any case if it did I'm sure they will rectify the problem

no what ever in the receipient sim stays.

you lose everything on the old sim that will no longer work

The plan/credit is associated to the phone number. So by default the credit will be lost if the number is disconnected (such as when you port your number onto it).

You can however get the credit reinstated on the new, ported number. A store can get that done (they send an email) or you can call the prepaid helpdesk to do it.

:l haha oh wellz, porting will be completed later tonight.

Checked with Telecom just in case and just like Paulthagerous said, they advised me to call their Prepaid helpdesk to get my credit reinstated :)

Yes you are right. Credit is associated with your phone number and not your sim. When you port in the prepaid helpdesk should be able to move the credit from the old number to the new one. Even better if you ring up beforehand and get them to put a note on your account to thay effect. Online chat may be able to help too. But the prepaid helpdesk are the right folks to sort it.
