Hey Geekzoners,
It has come to our attention that heaps of new people are signing up to Bigpipe because they heard about us through existing customers. Because of that, we want to say thanks for sharing.  So, until the end of March, if you are a Bigpipe customer and get a mate to sign up to Bigpipe you both go into the draw to win your choice of a Macbook Pro or Alienware Laptop - both packages worth around $3,000!

We are still a new ISP and you are in a fairly small and exclusive club of early adopters, so you have a pretty good shot of winning the prize even if you only get one or two mates to sign up! But you can refer as many people as you like. The more people you refer, the more entries you get, and the bigger your chance of winning a super sweet, brand new, top-of-the-range laptop. Here are the important bits:

  • You must be a current Bigpipe customer
  • Your friend must sign up for Bigpipe before midnight on the 31st of March 2014 (call them now!)
  • You and your friend must both have activated Bigpipe connections as at 21st April 2014 (that's when the draw takes place)
  • Each person you refer means one entry into the draw for you, and one entry for that person. The more people you refer, the more entries you get.
  • To be eligible for the prize, your friend must send us a message through the support form on our site https://www.bigpipe.co.nz/#/support before midnight on 31st March 2014 selecting ‘BigpipeMates’ as the topic.  Make sure they put your email address in too!
Even better, since we don’t want people who have already been recommending Bigpipe to miss out, if you've already referred a mate, that still counts! Just get them to submit the form - with your email address - before 31st March 2014 and you both get an entry into the draw. Some helpful tips on how to recruit friends:

  • Send an email
  • Send a txt
  • Tweet about @BigpipeNZ and use the hashtag #BigpipeMates
  • Post on our Facebook page and tag your mates
  • Post a Facebook status update with a link to our site
  • Knock on peoples doors up and down your street
  • Hire a plane to write www.bigpipe.co.nz and your email address in the sky
  • Stand in the street preaching the Bigpipe message
Think creative but keep it legal please!

Full Ts and Cs can be found on our site, in the FAQ section titled 'Bigpipemates competition'
Any other questions, fire away on here.

I know we have a lot of geekzoners on Bigpipe right now, so there is a pretty good chance of one of you peeps winning, so good luck!

Cheers

Why not have a free VDSL master filter install as a prize?

you would prefer a $200 splitter install over a $3000 laptop??

Besides which, most of our VDSL customers already have one, so it wouldn't be very useful giving them another one

I'm going to chuck it out there...

Refer me - I want to win that laptop. Bigpipe is great no matter what Biddlecorp says. Master filters are easy to purchase.

Cheers Michael.
For anyone that wants to use Michael as their reference, you will need his email address, so best to PM him for that.

Perhaps we were reading different articles? Steve didn't say they were bad, he was saying they don't include a master filter like every other ISP (Fact) and that installing one would likely improve your speeds (also fact).

Just a wee reminder for those of you who are Bigpipe customers, you only have about 10 days to get your entry in to the Bigpipemates competition, so if you have referred anybody who signed up to Bigpipe at any point in time make sure they give us that info.

OR if you have some mates who would like cheap fast flatrate broadband, with no fluffy bits, then hit them up.

Pretty sweet prizes up for grabs - your choice of Alienware laptop or Macbook Pro, each worth $3k, but you gotta be in it to win it, as they say.

Personally, I'd pick the Alienware laptop If I won, (which I can't because I'm staff), damn sexy piece of kit, and my current PC is too weak to run Titanfall  :(

I'm keen to give BigPipe a go.

Anyone want to PM me and give us both a chance of winning some cool stuff?

Yeah his buyer beware post just pretty-much said make sure your wiring is up to date. I've had a master filter since the week I moved in this house so no issues there!

Just a few days to go before this comp closes off.

What will you pick if you win?
And what will you do with your Laptop+bigpipe broadband combo?  Gaming? Streaming? Pr0n? Download lots of Linux distros?

Tell your friends, and don't forget they need to tell us about the referral too via our support form before midnight 31st March.

good luck everyone!

I'll be using it for design - so will potentially go towards the Mac to be different.

And yes, I am pretty anti-apple so this is a big move for me!
