Hey all, I am looking at moving a family member to a new plan (currently on Supa Prepay with Voda) and they need voice minutes more than data or text. I have looked at the Skinny weekly combos, and the way I read it, I can get 560 minutes every 4 weeks for $48 as follows:

$4 Loose Lips - 60 minutes per week
$8 Talk 80 - 80 minutes per week

Total of 140 minutes per week, times 4 (ignoring the 4.2 weeks per month, this is more about the minutes than the exact calculations) gives 560 minutes.

Is this correct? I cannot find anything more detailed on their site.

Also, does "standard NZ landlines" include VOIP lines?

Another option is 2degrees,
$19 per pack for 200 minutes that carry over if unused

Also I would imagine it includes VOIP phones as long as they are using a NZ number

Correct, You pay $4 Loose lips + $4 Talk80 addon = $8 per week

4 weeks in a month X $8 = $32? Where did you get $48 from? or was that a mistake you made

And yeah it does include voip lines, NZ land lines and NZ mobiles

The only thing is it only has 100 texts a week = 400 a month
Also has 60mb data (240 mb a month)

Yes, it does. We also have Share Everything: if you are currently on one of the unlimited calling plans, then for an extra $20/mth (till beginning of April) you can give unlimited calling and texting to another 2degrees subscriber, even a prepay one. For two people, that works out to about $44.50 per month per person for both to have unlimited calls & texts plus some data (1GB, I think) to share.

EDIT: 1.5GB to share.

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!

Duh me! That 's another mistake! Thanks for pointing it out. So yes you are right, I had put the Talk 80 at $8 when its $4.

I am looking at 2 degrees as well, although this will be pure prepay so no option for the shared plans.

The thing you will have to take into account is that on Skinny the weekly combos minutes don't roll over, so if you don't use them, you lose them.

I've moved to an on account 2 degees plan because the minutes and data roll over, and you don't need to mess about toping up every week

You topped up each week?? Why not each month or so??

Yeah, But the same could be said about monthly ;) You could use your whole allowance of mobile data in a week and you have to wait for the rest of the month to get more. At least with the skinny weekly you only had to wait until the end of the week

Also as you probably know Skinny does monthly now too. With rollover minutes

macuser: Too easy to over spend

It used to be but not anymore, When you go over on your data it simply stops until you buy an addon or until your plan renews, Theres no data overage cost.

Although if you go over your minutes it will charge you

I think the weekly minutes expire every week though, right? It's not carry-over minutes?
So you can't compare it to monthly plans from other providers if I am correct.
So if I am correct, if you don't use all your weekly minutes within seven days, they expire.

Skinny: Correct me if I am wrong.
