Hi all,

Just a query about Xtra DNS servers for the VDSL service. Are they the same for VDSL as well as ADSL?

http://help.telecom.co.nz/app/answers/detail/a_id/1274

Kind Regards ... Dean

You should always use the DNS servers handed out via the PPPoA/PPPoE - this will ensure you're connected to the best DNS server.

I had to change to the google dns on both my partners and my own laptops as half the time the pages would not load. This is on windows 8.1 and telecom supplied technicolor router that was supplied when we changed to vdsl.

Thanks I can find that in the modem settings then? Not sure of the Modem IP but will look this evening via RealVNC as I live in Australia and connect remotely to

computers in NZ.

But, but, but.... My Netflix will stop working if I do that! :-(

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

That's a known Windows bug that's been discussed indepth here in other threads.

Using Google DNS is not recommended due to all the potential issues it will introduce.
