Anyone else having problems subscribing to Telecom's online gallery this week?

I have tried several times since Sunday and got a message to say that the 'service is currently unavailable' and they are 'working to resolve the problem'

I called telecom on Tuesday and the person at the call centre tried with the same result and told me to try again.

I have logged a help request and now been told that my phone is not compatable - and that the online gallery is really a legacy system for older phones - and I should go out a buy a USB cable.

But this doesn't make sense on three points:
1. the online gallery is promoted on the telecom/xtra websites as 'state of the art'
2. my phone (a Pantech Tx-1000c) can and has uploaded pictures to the online gallery (and is advertised as being able to do this)
3. the message states that there is a system problem - not that my phone is incompatible

I have replied to the response from telecom and will wait to here what they say - if anything

I would be interested to know if anyone else has had this problem and how or if it was resolved.

Firstly, I would recommend calling mobile faults on 0800 400 909 opt 3 and raising a case.
As you've got a TX-1000 which is a lightsurf equipped handset, you should be able to access the online gallery.

Just for clarification, is it failing when you attempt to 'subscribe' it to a Xtra username? If so I have seen it before and it is something that should be fixable if raised correctly.

Yes - it is failing when I attempt to subscribe to an Xtra username.  I have tried with both my existing user name and newly created one.
It allows me to login, enter my mobile phone number, receive and enter the verification code and then comes up with the error while processing the next stage.

I will try online faults - I don't think I have rung that particular number yet.

As a point of feedback to any Xtra staff - the 0800 supplied on the xtra.selfservice login screen is for Xtra dialup/Broadband.  I rang them, they puzzled about what I was talking about then transfered me to xtra mobile.  Similarly, the help email I found most easiely from the online gallery page was Xtra dialup/broadband who then had to transfer it to Xtra mobile.

It would be really useful to customers to get these things tidied up on the web pages.  Smile

All fixed and working now.

I followed the advice and rang faults and they logged a call with technical support - who appear to have resolved it.

Apparently it is a known issue and at this stage customers need to ring the faults number above - who do know what to do.

Others in telecom apparently don't know.

I see the new CE is going to work on the principle of "happy customers means happy shareholders" - so let's hope that is not just another Tui billboard in the making.


One tiny little niggle - if you are on a Linux platform - the site only works properly on Konqueror. Opera doesn't display the images and Firefox displays some but not all. (but I can live with that)
