Hi everyone,

odd request, but does anyone have a link to the site map (if it exists/is publicly available?) for the Telecom NZ website? I can't seem to find it on the site at all, and Google doesn't net any results either.

I need it for a project at uni (Multimedia and Web Design course) and we need to do a big report on an NZ companies website, and I got Telecom. It's fine if it isn't available, I just don't want to put in my report that there is no site map, when there really is and I just can't see it because I haven't done a mum look yet.

Cheers :)

-Sam

It is massive and IIRC it is not an easy site to do a map on (soooo many pages, even stuff from the 90's if you look hard enough). I do not think there is any such thing I'm afraid.

Oh wow, see I tried it without the .xml before posting, but got 404.

You're a clever thinker tho, thanks :D Very helpful.

The sitemap.xml file isn't quite the same thing as a Sitemap page.

I'm not sure how they generate it - but their sitemap.xml file is not up-to-date or accurate.  Some URLs go 404.

The Sitemap.xml file is a way for the site-owner to tell Google about pages that Google might not be able to crawl and discover in the normal way.
It can help if a site isn't well linked.
There's some other aspects about crawl frequency and priority.

Just Google "What are XML sitemaps?"

Telecomwholesale seems to have the ordinary and best-practice type of sitemap.

It's possibly been manually generated, as a CMS will generally create one and keep it upto date automatically. Not sure what cms telecom uses. Possibly custom built.
