Nice!

Any plans for sharing it between devices?

Nothing I can 'share' at the moment but we're always looking at how to innovate laughing

While I am happy to see Skinny releasing new products, I see some short comings on this data SIM product.

  • Why I cannot get these data packs on my normal skinny SIM / monthly combo?  I don't want to bring another mobile hot spot with me!
  • Exclusive to Harvey Norman?!  Why?  I don't want to deal with them, their service is terrible!
  • Also, being exclusive to HN, that means I cannot buy it from Skinny online, that means I cannot buy one using my soon to be expired / useless Skinny dollars.
  • Last but not least, these data packs are still more expensive than 2degrees.

Anything stopping me from using one of these in a cellphone? I understand that calls and text messages won't work, but I have a phone with a dead microphone that this could be quite useful for.

Can you let me know which data packs you think are better value at 2degrees?

Don't forget that ours also give you 60 days or 180 days to use the data - not just a month.

No you could put one into that phone and just use it for data or as a hotspot.

Not really a fair comparison unless you only use data within a 2Degrees zone. Other than that, great prices. I'll be buying one at the weekend. Are the data only SIM cards the same price?

You buy the SIMS pre-loaded with the initial 2GB, 5GB or 10GB plan on them

And when that data is used or the time is up, can one elect to purchase one of the other data amounts for the same SIM?

The idea is good, but pricing needs to be a bit sharper for me to switch. I'm using the 2degrees $99 for 12GB in my mifi now, and it is serviced in a lot more places than you'd shake a stick at now. Lots of smaller centres are now mbb zones.

The 2degrees plans mentioned above are only usable within a 2degrees coverage zone, not when you're roaming on Vodafone.

If you want to compare them you really need to be comparing them with the Vodafone 3 and 6 month plans.

Just to reinforce the comments people have made above on package comparisons, these are the relevant coverage maps.

Yes it just comes pre-loaded with a Combo but after that you can manage the account through the website as per normal.  So you can change Combo whenever you like.  There is no data overage (our experience is people prefer not to get the bill shock) so if you use all the data up before its expiry date just purchase a new Combo (if you want the same one again then just cancel it and re-purchase).

Don't forget to top the SIM up in the normal way to ensure the Combo renews!

If the combo expires are you able to purchase a data only combo again when required or would I have to buy a new SIM.  There are no links on the account or combo pages for buying a data only combo (or are we just a little ahead?).

Thanks
