I seem to be having problems with Telecom and transparent proxies again. From a clients computer I can go to either
http://checkip.dyn.com
http://checkip.dyndns.org
And get different IP's. From the dyndns.org this morning I was getting the 210... ip that is Telecom's transparent proxy, from checkip.dyn.com I'm getting the correct IP. Yesterday when I first discovered it I was getting the reverse!
Bloody frustrating.
Anyone else finding this??? Its a shame Telecom don't just exclude *.dyndns.org and *.dyn.com from their proxy and then there presumably wouldn't be an issue. Its also a shame that the Dyndns update client seems less configurable than the old versions were. You can't seem to change anything now in the IP detection process.
the router they have has DYNDNS support (Generally find the routers more reliable as they know their IP obviously!) but its too old and doesn't work any longer. Bit of a pain to tell the client to by a new router to solve Telecom's issue - I've heard you can get a static IP and opt out of the proxy but that generally requires again - Telling to client to pay more - I don't know what it is now but it use to cost $25 for a static ip with Telecom - Per month.
