No, not UFB just yet,  tongue-out  but we are launching some new plans on Monday, so thought I would give the good news here first.

What's staying the same:

  • All plans will still have the same awesome sauce of unshaped, unlimited data, no term contract, no connection fee.
  • ADSL FAST plan is staying the same at $79

What's new:

  • New BASIC ADSL Plan. Staying at $69 but upgrading from 1Mbps to 3Mbps speed (not so popular amongst you guys I'm sure,  but now fast enough to get a bit of non-HD video streaming going on Lightbox or Youtube.)  Also pretty good value for rural peeps who's connection can't go very fast anyway.
  • New TURBO VDSL Plan.  $89 instead of $99 ($10 cheaper)

The best bit:

Unlike some of the other ISPs that like to ignore their loyal customers and leave them out in the cold in the older, more expensive, plans, we are doing things a little differently and automatically moving customer across to the new plans to reap the benefits.

No need to get in touch or 'opt in', and certainly no need to sign a nasty 12 month contract to get access)

Bigpipe customers get the faster speed (in the case of the basic plan) or the cheaper price (in the case of the Turbo plan) automatically.  (Speeds will kick in on Monday 10th, and the new price for TURBO will apply from whatever your next billing date is after Monday 10th.)

For anybody on the Basic or Turbo plan, you'll receive an email in the next few days confirming the details.

Enjoy!

Fantastic!

Does that mean there will be a new set of plans coming up? Such as ones with a static IP?

static IP coming fairly soon.... (that won't require new plans though)

this is Awesome! :)

Been keen to go unlimited, but since we selling our house to build, even 12 months is too long a contract...

I'm currently on a FS/FS 150Gb vodafone plan but can only connect at 1Mb/s from 4.7kms away anyway, so would suit me perfectly... WAF is crying about the landline though, so what options are there for VOIP add ons that are WAF =8+ once setup (happy to take a couple hours even for setup if needed)

This would cut $35 off my bill each month, so there's room for a monthly 'pay as you go' contract with 2talk or somesuch if needed?

at your speeds, ild question if VoIP would be suited.. ild suspect your pegged out a fair amount of the time that the phones likely to be used...

correct.  We only do broadband.  What you do with the connection is up to you.

Feel free to use 2talk or whoever you want for voip. (you'll probably need a public IP for that too - which we provide on request for no extra charge)

2talk has an auto-provision thing, so setting up your ATA is an easy one-click event.

Conversant would trump 2talk every day of the week for service.

I thought this was a thread about Bigpipe's good news? BTW 2Talk works well for this residential customer (on Bigpipe).

Back on subject. Thanks Bigpipe ........... very pleased with the service I have received to date.
