This has probably been discussed before but I couldn't find a definitive answer so posting. When roaming, if the phone is turned off, will the call go to voice mail if it is active in settings? I will be travelling soon to an Asian country where roaming seems quite expensive.  Will take a local number as I will be there for a while.  Would like to put my NZ SIM in the phone there from time to time to check messages and Voice mail but do not want to have huge costs if every call that goes to voice mail is charged as an International call.  Any other ideas are welcome.
Thanks

Yes, if your phone is off the call will go to Voicemail and you will not be charged for "receiving" the call.  When you turn the phone on you should get a free text telling you about the voicemail.

Your only cost is ringing NZ to access the voicemail.  You may find you have to do this using your NZ SIM but as I don't use Spark I can't say for certain.
