Hi all

I am looking for solutions for the best way to boost cell phone reception in a large multiple floor concrete building. We have a cell tower on top of our building and the next 9 floors large machinery is in place with lots of stainless steel. on the ground floor reception is patchy and at times not there at all. can any one please advise what current solutions they have used and results found.

Thanks Garth

Talk to your Mobile Telco, they can install transmission equipment in the building.

Directly under the transmission equipment has traditionally been the worst place for cellphone reception as the antenna are not setup for it.

What he said.  Talk to your telco (not sure what GZ can do).  The antennas on the transmission tower will point outward - not downward.

+1 on waht the others have said, I actually doubt your phones are even connecting to the tower /panels on the roof, more likely they are getting reception from nearby towers that have better converage,

Imagine the Cell tower/panels as a garden sprinker , you are often the driest right in the middle - ( yeah its a 5hitty analogy, but you get the idea)
