Hello Everyone,

I've been trying to call any Telecom landline number, Xtra's 0800 CALL XTRA and the Telcom service centre 0800 000 000 and all error out with network congestion.

A client is also having the same issues. Both mobiles are in Auckland.

Anyone else got problems?

We have been having problems for the past 15 - 20 minutes with Telecom phone lines, in various sites in Auckland.  Problems with our Telecom landlines and mobiles.  Weare getting the odd call out, but problably 90% are failing.

We are not seeing problems outside Auckland... yet.

I connect without any problems to both of those Xtra/Telecom numbers using my Vodafone mobile here in Frankton, Hamilton. I also do not have any problems using the Telecom work landline to either of those numbers.

I called Vodafone, they just logged a fault in Auckland to Telecom landlines and 0800 numbers, who do you mean by "we" it sounds like you work for Vodafone and you mean your lines into the cell sites are failing? Or did I read this wrong?

"we" is an Auckland based organisation with a large number of offices, in various locations around the country, and a large contact centre in Auckland.  We are seeing problems with some of our telecom phone lines, but only for our Auckland offices.

Sorry, not Vodafone.

The issue is the Telecom Interconnect Switches, we have lost all signalling to Telecom, the fault is effecting all carriers in Auckland

Update 15:20 - Some Telecom services still effected , Signalling back up from both Papatotoe and North Shore Switches most services returning.

No update of official clearance from Telecom or reason for outage yet

15:40 - Services dropped again - Signaling is not stable and is bouncing

16:30 - Services all looking good, Signaling stable for 30 Minutes

16:06: Things seem to be working again, testing Telecom landline <-> VFX line, Telecom landline <-> Vodafone mobile, Vodafone mobile <-> VFX line. The Telecom landline is off the Mt Eden exchange. Tested 2x calls each way for each combination.

Thanks everyone and Phil for the heads-up, I was able to inform some clients of mine pretty quickly about the problem.
